Description |
Handwritten note transferring this collection from Vivian Haggerty to the Philadaelphia Water Department. Her late father was Henry Kalinoski, "supervisor of the pumping stations in the 1960's and 70s," according to her letter. "His office, that I always remember, was at the Torresdale Pumping Station on State Road. He came in contact with these pictures through his father-in-law, John J. Sullivan, who worked as a supervisor of the meter reading department." Haggerty had previously donated several early-20th century photo albums to the Friends of Northeast Philadelphia History (now the Northeast Philadelphia History Network), who, in turn, gave them on permanent loan to the PWD Historical Collection (Accession 2013.003) |
